In somatic release, the body is the starting point to achieve healing. This form of movement therapy cultivates an awareness of bodily sensations, and teaches people to feel safe in their bodies while exploring thoughts, emotions, and memories. In this two hour workshop, we'll explore fluid, simple & rhythmic and repetitive movements, deep breathing techniques, sound release therapy using our voices and restorative yoga postures to release emotions and memories such as:
- Grief
- Anxiety
- Anger
- Depression
- Trauma
Come dressed comfortably to move and consider bringing a comfort item such as a blanket or soft sweater from home that you can cocoon in for our long savasana. Bring a journal to document any thoughts or emotions that may arise and come with an open mind to release, let go and expand your heart and mind.
Please try to schedule time for quiet rest and reflection for the rest of the day following this class, as you may experience intense emotional and energetic release.
