Limited to just 6 students, in this practice of deep rest, the goal is to relax tissues around the joint for 3-6 minutes in each pose, allowing for a greater opening of connective tissue and flow of energy through the meridians. Drawing from traditional Daoist yoga and Hatha yoga, Yin yoga was popularized by Paul Grilley as an opportunity to embody the soothing, relaxed, grounding energy of Yin to balance our busy, hectic Yang lifestyles.

This form of movement therapy cultivates an awareness of bodily sensations, and teaches people to feel safe in their bodies while exploring thoughts, emotions, and memories. In this two hour workshop, we'll explore fluid, repetitive movements, deep breathing techniques, sound release therapy and restorative yoga postures to release emotions and memories such as:

- Grief

- Anxiety

- Anger

- Depression

- Trauma

Come dressed comfortably to move and consider bringing a comfort item such as a blanket or soft sweater from home that you can cocoon in for our long savasana. Bring a journal to document any thoughts or emotions that may arise and come with an open mind to release, let go and expand your heart and mind.
