Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training

September 12, 2026 - February 7, 2027

Our 300-Hour Advanced Teacher Training is designed for dedicated yoga teachers and practitioners who are ready to deepen their understanding of yoga as a therapeutic, embodied, and lineage-rooted practice. This hybrid program weaves together in-person weekend immersions, weekly Zoom philosophy circles, and supported self-paced study to create an immersive and transformative experience.

Over ten modules, students will refine their teaching voice, expand their anatomical and philosophical understanding, learn trauma-informed and somatic principles, and integrate the wisdom of Ayurveda, subtle body practices, and advanced pranayama into their work with students and communities.

10-Inspiring Modules

  • Supportive Touch & Universal Access to Practice
This module offers a trauma-informed, therapeutic approach to hands-on assists and prop work. Teachers learn safe touch principles, consent culture, biomechanics-based assists, and creative prop applications for all bodies.
We focus on reading students’ needs, adapting classes for injuries and chronic conditions, and offering options that support dignity, autonomy, and empowerment.

  • A Classical + Experiential Approach to the Energetic Body
This immersion expands beyond the Westernized chakra model to include traditional yogic maps of prana, the koshas, vayus, granthis, and nadis. We bridge philosophy, meditation, gentle movement, and pranayama to help teachers create energetically intelligent practices.
Students learn to sequence with subtle body intention, offer energetic alignment cues, and integrate meditation and breathwork in meaningful, purposeful ways.

  • Breath, Physiology & State-Shifting Practices
This module blends classical pranayama with modern respiratory science. We explore breath biomechanics, the diaphragm–pelvic floor relationship, breath and emotion, and therapeutic vs. activating practices.
Teachers learn to safely guide advanced pranayama, create breath-centered class arcs, understand contraindications, and use the breath as a profound tool for transformation and nervous system balance.

  • Living Philosophy for Teaching, Leadership & Life
This immersive weekend anchors students in the heart of yogic wisdom. We explore key Sutras, the themes of the Bhagavad Gita, and the lived ethics of yoga teaching—including scope of practice, cultural appropriation, dual relationships, consent, boundaries, and community care.
Combined with weekly Zoom philosophy circles, this module helps teachers bring yoga’s deepest teachings into their lives, relationships, and classrooms.

  • Classical foundations, nervous system regulation & styles of meditation

This module invites teachers into the deeper, more subtle layers of meditation—beyond scripts, beyond techniques, and into meditation as a lived, embodied state. This immersion blends classical yogic philosophy and modern nervous system science to help you confidently practice and teach meditation in a trauma-aware, accessible, and authentic way.

Teachers learn how to skillfully introduce meditation in an accessible way. Explore how to choose appropriate techniques for different students, how to guide interoception and presence, develop the ability to support students through restlessness, resistance, or emotional release, and learn to thoughtfully sequence meditation within yoga classes, workshops, and private sessions.

  • Holistic Living & Energetic Sequencing
This module introduces Ayurveda as a practical tool for teaching and living. Students learn dosha theory, seasonal practices, lifestyle rituals, and how to design yoga sequences that honor the rhythms of nature and individual constitutions.
Teachers leave with tools to support balance, digestion, clarity, and vitality through movement, breath, and ritual.

  • Functional Movement, Fascia, & The Intelligent Body
This module offers a modern, therapeutic approach to yoga anatomy. We explore the fascial system, joint variability, core stability, load adaptation, injury patterns, and how to integrate biomechanics into safe, accessible sequencing.
Through movement labs, palpation work, and applied adjustments, teachers learn to read bodies skillfully, offer intelligent options, and cultivate a practice that honors anatomical uniqueness over aesthetic shapes.

  • Nervous System Literacy for the Modern Yoga Teacher
In this deeply experiential module, we explore the intersection of yoga, somatic therapy, and nervous system science. Students learn the foundations of polyvagal theory, interoception, co-regulation, pendulation, titration, and trauma-sensitive cueing.
Teachers leave with practical tools to create safer, more inclusive spaces and to support students through stress, overwhelm, and emotional resonance—without stepping outside their scope of practice.

  • A Historical & Cultural Foundations Immersion
This module explores where modern postural yoga comes from—and why it matters. Through the lens of Yoga Body: The Origins of Modern Posture Practice, we trace the evolution of yoga from ancient philosophy to modern movement, examining the influences of physical culture, colonialism, and key lineage holders.
Students learn to teach with cultural humility, honor tradition while embracing modern insight, and understand how yoga arrived in its current form. This module sets the tone for a training rooted in authenticity, respect, and embodied wisdom.

  • Capstone Mentorship Weekend
In our final module, students synthesize everything they’ve learned. Through collaborative teaching labs, case studies, advanced sequencing, and mentorship circles, teachers refine their skills and prepare to share them with the world.
We explore professional boundaries, emotional labor, self-care, and the teacher’s evolving role as a community leader and space-holder.
This integrative module honors your growth, celebrates your teaching voice, and prepares you to step forward with confidence and authenticity.

Denver Clark is an intuitive, imaginative, and authentic teacher who continuously finds creative ways to teach the deeper lessons of yoga. From detailed anatomy courses, to advanced teaching lessons, to yoga therapy for all things from depression & anxiety to connecting with the body- she has been one of my top favorite teachers I have had the privilege to learn from in my lifetime. I consider myself lucky to have her as a teacher, mentor, and friend.
— S. Avant

Student Testimonials

Denver guided me through my 200 & 300 YTT training. She was also part of the program when I completed the modules for yoga therapy through IAYT.
Denver’s teaching style is not only extremely knowledgeable & informative, but also very mindful & creative. She goes above and beyond with her teaching techniques. I feel so honored and grateful to have had her as one of my primary instructors for several years through my journey down the yogic path.

I received my 200-hour YTT at 20 years old then a year later my 500 YTT from Denver. The knowledgeable, care and passion put into the training I received was outstanding. Denver helped me become a confident instructor but what I didn’t realize when I first started my training is that it would equip me with skills to handle the ups and downs of my early, mid, and now late twenties. Denver’s training goes beyond the mat, and I believe is an investment that you will reap the benefits from for a lifetime

Denver Clark - Lead Trainer

C-IAYT, ERYT-500, YACEP, LMT

Raised in a Dance studio by two dance teacher parents, Denver has been raised to speak the language of the body. As a lifelong larger bodied person, the struggle of growing up in front of a mirror left her with body dysmorphia, disordered eating patterns and self loathing. Coupled with Anxiety and Depression, the simple blessing of finding a yoga class at age 21 was a life saving moment. Raised by teachers and with a passion for performing arts, Denver left the world of musical theatre and dance and began to learn and share the gifts that yoga has to offer with others.

She has now been teaching yoga for over 15 years, having owned and operated her own yoga studio for 8.5 years in Blue Ridge, GA and acted as the program director of Heartwood Yoga Institute in Bradenton, FL from 2016 to 2023. She now travels as a teacher and Teacher Training specialist and consultant, offering Anatomy, Meditation, Pranayama and much more.

Denver received her 200 and 300 hour Yoga Teacher training from Peachtree Yoga in Atlanta, GA, Her Yoga Therapy and Reiki Master certifications from Heartwood Yoga Institute in Bradenton, FL and her Massage Therapy schooling from Sarasota School of Massage Therapy in Sarasota, FL. She has been a massage therapist since 2018.
